Organised by the Italian Council for research in agriculture (Consiglio per la ricerca in agricoltura e l’analisi dell’economia agraria – CREA) the conference on research for the organic food and farming sector will be held in Rome, January 20-21, 2016. ISOFAR President Gerold Rahmann will open the Conference.

The event aims to highlight the main challenges that researchers and innovators will have to face in the next years at global, European and national level. The conference will also provide a nice opportunity to meet and discuss on the most relevant topics for the Italian and local contexts, for the wide Italian scientific community involved in organic farming research. Eleven national and three transnational (Core Organic Plus ERA-NET) ongoing research projects (co-)funded by the Italian Ministry of Agriculture will be presented. Scientists, policy makers and other stakeholders will discuss the preliminary results of those research projects in interactive sessions (research bazaar and panel discussions).
Prof. Dr. Gerold Rahmann, ISOFAR President, kindly accepted the invitation to open the conference with a key lecture on the global perspectives of research in organic farming.
